Tingling in the feet? Burning in the feet? Or is it the hands?
Abnormal sensations such as tingling and burning in the feet or hands should not be taken lightly by diabetics.
Because these could be the first signs of a so-called polyneuropathy. A doctor should be consulted as soon as possible.
"The most noticeable early symptoms of nerve damage are a tingling sensation, numbness, and pain in the feet that occur during sleep," explains Dr. Curt Beil from the Professional Association of German Neurologists.
Up to 30 per cent of all diabetes patients develop diabetic neuropathy sooner or later. This nerve damage progresses rapidly without appropriate treatment, and serious complications can even lead to diabetic foot.
If symptoms have already progressed to numbness, it is essential for those affected to give their feet special attention and care, such as professional foot care. Injuries can easily go unnoticed, become infected, and lead to problematic ulcers.
By the way, smokers should heed the same warnings. After all, it is the legs and arms of diabetics and smokers that are amputated en masse.

Pleasure = joy = pleasure?
This short movie from Erich Fromm delivers an essential message. Unfortunately, it is only available in German language.

Dioxin poison in pork
Now the pigs are striking back!
What's happening again in the food industry will convince some people to finally rely only on food produced locally, promptly, and seasonally appropriately, in familiar places by familiar people. All that "gorging" on useless stuff otherwise makes you sick and, in so many cases, just fattens you up. And only pigs want to be fat.

You are what you eat
Food holds the body and soul together. What you eat, you are. Eating yourself to death. Overeating. And other such sayings.
The comments on the last post show how vital nutrition is to us/you. Its importance is probably almost equal to that of sexual energies. But let's approach the matter practically.
Here are some recommendations. Let's start with eating unnecessary fat. Please don't go out and buy anything "low-fat." It's just more expensive, doesn't help with the fight against excess weight, and is just a trick by the food industry to increase your intake.
1. Pizza!
2. Fatty meats
3. Chocolate
4. The popular snacks! Stay away from chips, pretzels, peanuts, and the like
5. Margarine
6. Alcohol
7. Fatty sauces
8. The popular sausages
9. Fast food
10. Cream cakes
11. Sausages in general and some cheeses
And: Keep in mind what the Yogi says: You can eat anything, it's the amount that counts.
