Love your body as you love your soul. You are the one who decides.
* Your body is your boat, sailing across the sea of life. Guide it with a compass and a purpose so that your boat sails where you most want to be. And you have to keep your boat strong and seaworthy to withstand any weather.
*One thing is clear, of course. Anyone who doesn't like themselves and drifts through life is simply an ant in the world, running where the crowds are.
* I keep fit and healthy with traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu.
The phrase anti-ageing is giving the false hope. In nature, every living creature is aging from day one on earth. Anti-ageing however aproached, cannot stop that process.
All what we can do, is live adequat and kind of happy and healthy and enjoy the journey of aging in the most best possible way.
Even something as simple as always wearing a seat belt can reduce your chances of dying early. Most of the things that make up a longevity lifestyle are simple — exercise, eat and drink healthy, sleep adequately, stay engaged.
If only people would do them.
"Better dead than red" was one of the popular slogans used to warn the people starkly about what would happen to them if a "red government" came to power. That was when I was just out of childhood, and my dear mother was still a wonderful, mature woman and, after all, the mother of seven children.
Today, almost 40 years later, I rewrite the slogan and say, "Better dead than in a home, nursing home, retirement home, or whatever these horrific places of elderly care are called."
On Sunday, I visited my mother in her care facility, a complete disaster. She has to be there because we're deluding ourselves, deluding ourselves that living as long as possible is better than voluntarily ending our lives at the appropriate time. Today, we live naively and shirk almost all critical decisions.
Yet it's clear that things can't go on like this. We're enraged about battery hen cages or the hunting of whales. And us? What happens when we're old? A retirement home! Survive as long as possible, at a dehumanizing level, in stench, degraded, don't die and make a bed available, constantly choking down all the prescribed pills and medicine, life between life and death, undignified, immature, cruel.
I'll rewrite the slogan and say, better dead than a retirement home! The photo shows a magnificent cliff on the south coast of England. And as long as there's no solution in this society, I'll use my freedom and, in due time, jump off that very cliff. Fly like a bird to paradise.
Today I read a newspaper headline at the kiosk: Thousands of centenarians to blame for health insurance deficits!
Well, hello, the cat's finally out of the bag. What many have always suspected, for example, the government, health insurance companies, and even pension funds, have no interest in citizens getting "too old."
Ideal age to die:
1. From the perspective of the pension fund: 65 years
2. From the perspective of the health insurance companies: when a certain level of medical treatment costs is reached.
3. From the perspective of the government: anyone who doesn't pay taxes is basically superfluous
The way lies are spread about aging is demonstrated by an example on Web.de. It actually states, "...that lifestyle has relatively little influence on individual life expectancy." A study in the USA supposedly found this. According to the study, longevity depends solely on genes. So, smoke free! Have a drink now and then, and those few pounds of fat will be comfortable... And exercise is also harmful; it just wears out your bones.
The number of depressive people did not rise, but the consumption of anti-depressive medication did. One reason is the easy going mentality of many GPS' who like to subscribe to these medications. But it is well known that to be unhappy (today is quickly recognized as depressive) belongs to life like the rain in the weather.
Therefore, it is highly advised to solve the reasons for someone's unhappiness instead of using drugs. But here we are, the patient often looks for quick solutions - and the doctor needs to finance his living standards.
