70 % muscles

No single person has 70 per cent muscle mass. But they make an ideal pair. On average, the mass of muscles in women is 30%, while in men, it is around 40%. Muscles are, therefore, the largest organism in the body after skin and bones. It's crucial to understand that if a muscle is used and trained, it works reliably and maintains itself, but neglected muscles atrophy and only have minimal performance.

This underscores the importance of maintaining muscle health, as it is a key to overall physical well-being. Successful muscle movements are rewarded in the brain by the release of the hormone dopamine. This is why physical activity is always a key to happiness and satisfaction.

Most muscles are in the face. Over 50 produce every facial expression and show even the slightest emotional state. Human muscles are so strong that they can even be superior to those of horses.

In Wales and Great Britain, there is an annual race between horses and riders and marathon runners. Most recently, in 2007, a runner crossed the finish line first after a cross-country race, ahead of a horse and rider.

Neglected muscles are often the reason for back pain; if your muscles are unfit, you cannot expect to be particularly sexually active, and if you neglect the most important muscle, the heart, you will inevitably end up with a premature failure of this life pump.

The three gates to your psyche by Longevity Consultant Horst Lindenau

Have you ever thought about it?
Your eyes, your ears and your nose are the direct gateways to your very own psyche.
Without them you would live in the complete darkness, no sounds and no smells.

Therefore treat these three gateways with utmost care.

Select careful what you look at. For example a piece of art.
Select careful what you listen to. For example avoid trash media.
Select careful sources of smell which surround you. Minimise the use of smelly items in daily life.

Energy-saving lamps - health risk?

The media are now reporting on health hazards and risks caused by energy-saving lamps.

There is a sweeping warning that energy-saving lamps could cause cancer, depression and even diabetes. The fact is, the new energy-saving lamps save electricity and therefore money.

But it is also a fact that a product is smuggled in as environmentally friendly, which at least causes problems in terms of disposal. And not just because of the high mercury content in the new light sources, but perhaps also because of the diffuse radiation that the lights emit.

The lamps are coming, the conventional light bulbs will gradually disappear from the market. And if you are afraid of any side effects, you are advised to sit in the dark more often. Go outside more often instead of sitting inside with lights on. Turn off the TV, cell phone, computer, stereo, microwave, or headphones more often. Then the danger posed by the new energy-saving lamps also has its place. I mean extremely low.

This article was first published in 2009.

Update in 2025 ... I still can confirm what i said in 2009. I like to add, these energy saving light bulbs are extremly expensive for the individual and they dont last long. I think it is more a monetary issue now, rather than health. keep the lights on :)

Happy days

Recently some people were talking about getting older and that they don't want to live forever as everybody, friends and family are dying around them.
Well, I thought how limited this view is.
Firstly people start dying around you as soon you are born and in my case I would say 75% of friends and half of family is dead already.
The important thing is how one deals with it.
Birth - life - death, that's the circle which is more a straight line, isn't it?

I believe strongly as long we are alive we shall enjoy it and make the very most of it.

Happy days!
